ON the advent of exam season we see anxious, restless, helpless parents almost in a paranoid state. We see the students suffering from studies-vertigo, by seeing the length and breath of the piled mountain of books. IN this season every student feels like he is preparing for a doctorate of the year. Anxious parents complain about the excess portion and how studies are getting tougher and tougher each academic season. Parents & students; these symptoms are neither the symptoms of being  a paranoid nor any study-vertigo but instead in simple terms it is known as “STRESS’

Stress builds in your system when like the merry grasshopper you enjoy the term before the exams and realize the shortage when you have just few days to prove your skills with a never ending portion. Or when you feel your peers are more updated in the portion then you are and your chances of scoring the first rank are pretty thin. Another reason could also be the fact that your family thinks you have Einstein brains and so you have to be the topper of all.

Relax. Yes take a deep breath, pause your thoughts and don’t let this stress virus engulf you. All you need to do first and foremost is to flush out the negative energy from your system. the key is to keep enchanting “I will, I can”.

once you have gained an ounce of confidence in your self, then try these other keys for a stress free exam day:

  1. LISTENING TO SOFT  INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC : Yes not the rock band music but the gentle sound of Casio or violin or any other instruments, calms your system, creates an aura of positivity, boosts your mood, energises your brain making it more hungry to grasp as much knowledge as it can.
  2. REVITALIZE YOUR BRAIN THROUGH EXERCISE: YUP! you need to do any form of exercise- be it running, dancing, aerobics, yoga, cycling, just any form of exercise for at least 30 minutes. A 30 minute exercise will keep all the anxiety at bay.
  3. PODC:( PLANNING; ORGANISING; DIRECTING; COMMUNICATING): You have to start your studies from some topic or some subject, isn’t it? Well then, you should first plan your subject-studies. List your topics, tick the ones that you feel are easy and you can complete it . make mind maps, brain storm your knowledge, underline key words, try to read loudly and quickly to grasp as much as you can, make targets, etc.. remember you are the maker and breaker of your life and the latter depends on how you direct your knowledge in your written communication ( that is your answer paper). SO plan yourself by making a time table, organise your subjects and its portion , direct your topics by learning smartly( make mind maps, stick diagram, google your topics, use your textbooks, learn the concepts, etc.) and make your subjects easier. Learn for knowledge not for grades. Learn because you want to know the topic and marvel at the amazing concepts, learn to enjoy not to stress yourself.
  4. USE YOUR CELLPHONE: Sounds amazing isn’t it? yes there are so many quizzes, apps that judge our knowledge analytically and also we enjoy the soft finger touch of the screen. Use your mobile in the right manner. Mobile has its own boons and banes, now you have to learn to choose the one that can save you and help you score what you deserve.
  5. 8HOURS OF SLEEP: studying till late night will not make you score more. The food for your brain is sleep. SO that it can restore all that you  have grasped in the day.
  6. EAT DARK CHOCOLATES: Yes the coco in the dark chocolates fights with your stress and defeats it, relaxes your system and refreshes you.
  7. DETRACT THE DISTRACTS: Keep your secret enemies at bay. Don’t let Facebook, instagram, watsapp, tv, iPads, iPods etc.. trouble you. Send them for a vacation in your closet and make space for the time that is awaiting for the right usage. A 30 day freedom form these will make your other days of life more fruitful.

It is very easy to tackle the stress of exams. All you need to do is to first list and comprehend the causes of the stress and then with your intelligence and smart planning, crop these one by one. Planning has helped the kings win battles, the government to run the country, your teacher in teaching. SO better late then never, plan your studies and learn smartly for a stress free exam

ALL THE BEST.
